The story of Open Hands Humanity Foundation is a story of love, compassion, sacrifice, and a legacy that refused to die.

Long before Open Hands Humanity Foundation was established, its foundation was already being laid through the life and humanitarian work of the late Mrs. Esther Fausat Oyegbemi, the beloved mother of our Founder, Mr. Oyegbemi Oyekunle Saidi.

Mrs. Esther was a woman who believed deeply in the power of giving and the responsibility to help those who were less privileged. Through her humanitarian efforts and the Esther Ajiboye Foundation, she reached out to people and families in need, providing food, clothing, shelter support, and assistance with school fees for many young people whose circumstances made education difficult.
Her generosity was not simply about giving material things. She believed that every act of kindness could restore dignity, create opportunity, and give someone the courage to hope again.

One of the principles she lived by and often shared with others was: “Have an open hand in giving to people.”
Those words became more than advice to her son. They became a lasting inheritance.

On March 14, 2014, Mrs. Esther Fausat Oyegbemi passed away. Although her physical presence was gone, the values she planted in the heart of her son remained deeply alive.
Rather than allowing her work and passion for humanity to end with her passing, Oyegbemi Oyekunle Saidi chose to carry the torch forward. Inspired by the life of his mother and determined to preserve the values she stood for, he continued to reach out to people in need and to seek meaningful ways of improving the lives of others.

What began as a son's desire to honour his mother's memory gradually developed into a greater humanitarian vision.
Over time, that vision evolved into Open Hands Humanity Foundation—a structured platform dedicated to humanitarian assistance, community outreach, empowerment, education, support for vulnerable people, and sustainable community development.

The Foundation's name itself carries the heart of its story. “Open Hands” represents the willingness to give, to serve, to share, to lift others, and to extend hope without expecting anything in return.
Today, Mr. Oyegbemi Oyekunle Saidi continues to build upon the values his mother demonstrated through her life. His journey is not simply about creating an organisation; it is about keeping alive a philosophy of compassion that began with a mother's open hand.

Through Open Hands Humanity Foundation, her legacy continues to touch lives—one person, one family, and one community at a time.
